How To Hide A Double Chin

Posted by beautyjust4you on July 19, 2008

Believe it or not, many women, full-figured and thin alike, battle the dreaded double chin. Everything from extra pounds to weight loss to poor posture can exacerbate this problem, and minimizing its appearance can seem like an impossible task. But take heart, there are beauty and fashion tricks you can use to create the illusion of a longer, slimmer, double-chin-free neck.

Here’s how:

A double chin can make your whole neckline look thick and stumpy. Your aim, then, is to make your neck look as long and lean as possible. One way to do this is to keep your neckline free of hair. That can mean choosing a short cut — something with lots of chunky layers draws the eye up and away from your chin. It can also mean wearing your hair up, giving the illusion of a longer, slimmer neck.

Keep your makeup focus on the eyes and cheeks. Doing so draws the eye upward to your amazing eyes or flushed cheeks, taking emphasis off your neck. Be sure your brows are groomed impeccably, and then use neutral eye shadows and plenty of soft liner and mascara to add eye definition. Or go for the flushed-cheek effect by applying color to the apples of your cheeks; in this case, dress eyes with a coat of mascara only.

Attempt to contour. Heavy contouring (the kind you tried in seventh grade to make your nose look slimmer) is too obvious. Instead, go for the subtlest touch. Dust a bronzer powder in a light shade along your jawline, under your chin. This creates a shadow, which in turn makes your chin look less conspicuous. Sweep some bronzer over your temples and nose to keep the look natural.

Fashion Tricks

Avoid tops that stop just below your neck, as they’ll emphasize your double chin. Crewnecks, boatnecks, and high v-necks are all off-limits.

Pick tops that elongate your neckline. As with your hairstyle, your choice of top can make your neck look longer and leaner (and your chin less noticeable). Go for tops with deep v-necks or scoop necks, or wear open-collared button-downs. Another option: A high turtleneck that camouflages your double chin.

Choose accessories wisely. Chokers that pinch your neck, long earrings that end alongside your problem area, and neck scarves all draw attention to a double chin. Instead, pick pieces that elongate and draw the eye away from your chin, such as a long lariat or necklace, sparkly stud earrings, and scarves worn away from the neck.

Snacks for a flat belly

Posted by beautyjust4you on July 3, 2008

The time for a 100 crunches a day is finally over.

A Spanish research team has found that certain types of food actually removes belly fat. It removes not only the visual fat that we see on our stomachs but also the dangerous fat around our intestines.

Surprisingly, the food is: Fats and mono unsaturated fats.

Who would have thought that fat would hold the key to a fat stomach. So don’t worry about low fat anymore go for right fat instead.

One thing about foods that are high in mono unsaturated fats is that they are great as snacks. Always keep a bag of raw nuts in your purse, your car and your office drawer. Munch on marinated olives in front of the TV. And eat avocados and guacamole as often as you can.

Here are ideas for 7 days of flat tummy snacks. Eat them during the day or in the evening, maybe in front of the TV.
Snacking is healthy! Just watch what you snack on.

 7 days of healthy snacks:

  • Monday: ½ cup of peanuts and 1 apple
  • Tuesday: Rye bread and mashed avocado (mash the avocado with a fork and spread on your sandwich)
  • Wednesday: Herring on whole wheat toast topped with halved cherry tomatoes
  • Thursday: 1/2 cup of pistachio nuts and 1 banana
  • Friday: Marinated olives, your favorite raw nuts and some cucumber pickles.
  • Saturday: Baby carrots with guacamole dip.
  • Sunday: Flat stomach smoothie: ½ cup of natural yogurt, 200 grams frozen berries, ½ banana, 1 tablespoon rolled oats, 4 cup of your favorite juice, a pinch of natural vanilla.

If you are very serious about getting a flat tummy fast you might want to look at your whole diet. I suggest that you follow these flat tummy diet guidelines:

  1. Eat plenty of mono unsaturated fats
    • Olives and olive oil
    • Avocado and avocado oil
    • Oats
    • Raw nuts
    • Linseeds and linseed oil
    • Sesame seeds and sesame seed oil
    • Herring
  2. Choose whole grain products. The dietary fibers will ensure a good digestion and remove bloating
  3. Eat as much fresh fruits and vegetables as you can. They will give you plenty of nutrients without a lot of calories
  4. Add some meat and fish to provide you with proteins to give you a full feeling.
  5. Avoid sugar, white flour, white rice and alcohol.

Beautiful Lips

Posted by beautyjust4you on June 15, 2008

If you want to turn up the volume of you sexual attractiveness, pay more attention to your lips. Every woman has ever used a lipstick.

The average woman consumes about 6 pounds of lipstick over the course of her lifetime. Fortunately lipstick is not harmful for one’s health. And every woman can experiment with lip make-up to make her lips more beautiful. Here you will find some useful tips, how to make lipstick last long, how to choose the right color of the lipstick, how to apply a lip liner and define lip shapes, how to make your lips appear fuller and other lip make-up ideas.

How to make your lips appear fuller

There exist different lipstick types on the market: glossy, matte, creamy and even frost. Choose one that suits you best depending on your lip skin type. For those who have thin lips it is better to choose lighter colors of the lipstick. Darker colors match more to beauties with thicker lips. Lip-gloss makes your lips appear visually fuller at the expense of volume and shine. Such lips sparkle, attract other’s eyes. Lips with lip-gloss applied on them look better on younger faces. So, extra shining lip-gloss is usually not recommended for older women.

How to make lipstick longer.

The secret to making your lip color last longer is first of all to apply a layer of foundation, dust some powder on lips and then color. After these manipulations your lipstick will not change color or dark your lips. It’s also useful to apply two coats of lipstick for long lasting lip color. Matt lipsticks normally last longer than the shiny ones.

Applying lip liner

After preparing the lips, take a lip liner to define the shape of lips. Outlining the lips is good, if you want to prevent lip color bleeding. The color of the lip liner should be close to lipstick color: the best variant would be the same or a little bit darker color.
Here are tips how to apply a lip liner. Start at the centre of lips, draw a “V” on bow of lips, after it draw the line to outer corners. Then line the bottom lip. If you want to make your lips look thicker, outline them just outside your lip line. In case you want your lips appear thinner, make the outline just inside your natural lip line. After the shape is defined, fill it with lipstick. After filling the interiors, apply the lipstick in the corners, which is easier with the open the mouth.

Some more Tips

  • Use lip care stick before going to bed with your other face treatment. Your lips are sensitive and need care and rest. Very dried and chipped lips can also be helped by applying sunflower oil on them.
  • You can apply lipstick with a brush.
  • Mix lip care stick with color lipstick, if your lips tend to look dried and chipped. Too much lip care stick can make the final color brighter in the middle and the rest color concentrate on the periphery of the lips.
  • Refrain from licking your lips.
  • Lip-gloss can be applied either alone or on matte lipstick to make your lips shine.
  • Apply cotton buds to remove excess lipstick.

You can always experiment and create new beautiful looks with different colors of the lipstick and lip liners, mixing lipstick and lip-gloss, drawing different shapes of your lips. While experimenting don’t forget to regularly take care of your lips, because if your lips are healthy, they look much more attractive and can be a real turn-on.

Eye MakeUp For Different Eyes.

Posted by beautyjust4you on June 9, 2008

Every woman should know, how to apply makeup so that it would emphasize her natural beauty and make her more attractive and at the same time would hide defects. Depending on the shape of your eyes choose different colors and ways of applying eye makeup.

If you have deep set eyes, choose light and nacreous tints of eyeshadows, it would help to make your eyes appear visually bigger. Apply light eyeshadows on your eyelid from the inner corner of your eye to the outer and a bit further. Light colors should be applied in the middle of the lid, and darker colors – on and just above the socket line. Blend the darker shade up and out.

Wide Set Eyes

You can visually reduce the range between your eyes if you apply a darker tint of eyeshadows from the outer corner of your eye to the middle of the eyelid. Apply a lighter eye shadow from the middle of your eyelid to the inner corner of your eye. Blend in different shades in the middle of the eyelid.

Down Turned Eyes

If you want to make down turned eyes more beautiful, it’s important to shade eye shadow up and out. Apply eyeliner close to the upper lash line and then blend in the shadow along the socket line in the outer two thirds of the eyes. In order to visually lift the eyes, apply dense mascara.

Asian Eyes

If you have Asian eyes, apply light eyeshadows on your eyelids. Use a pencil to make a thick smoky line along upper eyelashes (the line should be thick enough to be seen well when your eyes are open). Under the lower eyelashes draw a thinner line. In order to make your eyes visually wider apply brown eyeshadow on your eyebrows. Cover your eyelashes with two or three layers of dense mascara.

To Get Big Eyes.

Shadows of dark shades make your eyes visually smaller, deep set, while light tints, on the contrary, make them appear bigger, “open them wider”. If you want to create the effect of big, beautiful eyes, choose light eyeshadows. Apply eyeshadows after the application of eye pencil or any other kind of eyeliner: it would make your look softer and dreamy. If you want to make your look more dramatic, apply eyeliner after the application of eye-shadows. Then curl your eyelashes, it would add them shape. Then finish your eye make-up with a layer of mascara. In order to add more volume to your eyelashes and to make them appear bigger use a dense mascara. Never line the inner edge of the lower eyelashes, it would make your eyes visually smaller.

Silicone Breast Implants.A Controversy.

Posted by beautyjust4you on June 3, 2008

After a 14-year ban, silicone implants were re-approved in November 2006.

The ban came from the FDA’s reaction to the public concern that implants were responsible for women’s health issues including cancer and  immunological diseases. When manufacturer Dow Corning was unable to prove that the implants were completely safe, they were bankrupted by over $3 billion in lawsuits.

Silicone implants had, to that point, been favored over saline implants because they felt softer (saline implants were known to be unnaturally hard) and were less likely to spontaneously deflate.

Fourteen years of research revealed no link between implants and the serious health issues cited.

The FDA therefore decided to leave the decision to the discretion of women and their surgeons. But recovering the reputation of silicone (or gel) implants is an uphill battle, and critics still question why the FDA would rush re-approval when longer-term testing might expose risks. A month after the ban was lifted, an Austrian study rekindled the old concerns.

“Fourteen years isn’t much of a rush,” counters Dr. Paul Petty, consultant to Mayo Clinic’s department of plastic surgery. “There have been a number of very large studies conducted by epidemiologists—not plastic surgeons—looking for any kind of correlation between implants and significant disease entities, and none has ever been found. And there were many hundreds of thousands of ‘patient years’ to look at during the time that those evaluations were being done.”

Lifting the ban hasn’t made things easier on anyone.

Consumer advocates may suspect that the ban was lifted to benefit implant manufacturers and/or a lobby of plastic surgeons. But the lift comes accompanied by FDA restrictions that hogtie manufacturers, doctors and even patients.

Exasperated by the restrictions, Petty says, “It’s a way for the government to say yes and no at the same time, and the way they’re saying yes is so onerous that most [plastic surgeons] don’t want to put the implants in anyway. All of the patients who are getting implants are still on a 10-year FDA study with obtuse requirements, and there are many strings attached for the doctors and the manufacturer.”

The two biggest corporations dedicated to keeping breasts plump and faces firm are Allergan (the Botox people) and Mentor. Both make silicone and saline implants.

No implants are without risks or possible complications.

Among the most common is capsular contracture, the uncomfortable tightening that results from scar tissue build-up around an implant.

Another is when small amounts of silicone gel leak from a ruptured implant or bleed through its porous lining. “A mammogram can easily identify a little piece of free gel with scar tissue around it,” says Petty, describing what is known as a siliconoma. The name is frightening, but Petty explains that they are innocuous. “Siliconomas form a palpable lump, but there’s not a health risk associated with them. If they’re not in an obvious location [i.e., visible on the breast surface], you can just leave them alone.”

Connective tissue diseases (CTDs) were among the biggest concerns leading to the ban, since many women with silicone implants were found to have CTD. It’s been found, however, that CTD is as common in women without implants, and the connection was never proven or disproven. The FDA has developed a document outlining potential complications.

Cosmetic silicone implants are approved for women aged 22 and older.

The minimum age for saline, in contrast, is 18. Why the difference? The FDA’s age specification is a bit random but one justification is that, in their words, “A young woman may not be mature enough to make an informed decision about the potential risks.”

What’s more, the 22-year-old may be more likely to follow the FDA’s recommendation for bi-annual MRI exams to test for leakage—though she’d have to be a wealthy twenty-something to afford the procedure, which costs thousands of dollars and is rarely covered by insurance. Another thought is that a more mature woman may stand a better chance of understanding the voluminous documents she’ll be asked to read in advance of surgery.

(Note: There is no minimum age for breast reconstruction based on damaged tissue, as for cancer patients or young women with breast abnormalities.)

Implants don’t last forever.

Petty tells patients with silicone implants that they stand a 20 percent chance of needing a second surgery within 10 years to correct capsular contracture. Patients with saline implants run the same odds of a second surgery within 10 years due to either capsular contracture or rupture. And, Petty says, there’s a 100 percent chance that the “fancy water balloon” will need to be removed or replaced within 30 years. One way or another, nature will eventually have its way.

Silicone Breast Implants has been reviewed for accuracy by Dr. Paul Petty, consultant to the Division of Plastic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

Applying Makeup According To Our Face.

Posted by beautyjust4you on April 25, 2008

APPLYING LIPSTICK

Round Face: Put on a ruby red lipstick or shiny dark pink lipgloss. This will make your face appear more bold, and not too rounded.

Heart-shaped face/Oval: Since heart-shaped and oval-shaped faces have high cheek bones and a narrowed chin, add a soft color like rose on the upper lip, and a bold shade like cherry on the bottom lip. This will focus more boldness to the bottom part of the face, evening out the top part and bottom part of the face.

Square Face: If you have a square face, the jaw will appear larger than the forehead. (This does not make the face look ugly, it gives it a beautiful and bold look.) Avoid dark shades and use light colors like a soft orange shade, or a pale pink, but not light as in neon, like hot pink, this will add more focus to the lower part of the face.

  APPLYING BLUSH.

Round Face: Put on a good ammount of blush, preferably a fairly dark shade, again, this will give your face a more bold look. Just be sure not to apply too much blush, or you’ll look like you got a bad sunburn, and this won’t look good.

Heart-shaped Face/Oval: Avoid too much blush, you don’t want to much makeup on the area where your cheeks are, remember, heart-shaped faces already high cheekbones. Just apply a light ammount of a soft pink blush on your face. If you already have rosy cheeks, you probably don’t need blush.

Square Face: Put on a fair amount of blush in circular motions with a medium-sized brush. If you have fair skin, avoid putting on a bright shade of pink, you want your skintone to look even.

 APPLYING EYESHADOW

Round Face: Put on a dark purple shade of eye shadow.

Heart-Shaped Face/Oval: Apply soft colors of eye shadow, like pale pink, mint green, or sky blue.

Square Face: Put on unique colors like scarlet, periwinkle, and lavender. Remember, a square face is unique and different, so unique colors of eye shadow will bring out your facial features, especially your eyes.

  • Don’t over-do makeup. You want it to look natural.
  • Avoid wearing black lipstick and eye shadow. (Unless you want to look goth.) But, if you want your eyes to look bigger, you could wear black eyeliner.
  • Make sure you aren’t allergic to any of the products you’re using. This could be bad for your skin or health, and you don’t want a skin rash, or irritated skin.

Choose What Perfume To Wear

Posted by beautyjust4you on April 19, 2008

The world is full of different scents and smells that you can’t get your nose away from. Sometimes its difficult to choose a perfume given a certain occasion .Here are some tips to help you decide.

Decide on how much you are willing to spend on perfume. Do you want expensive elegance or a somewhat cheap classic? Do you want a famous label, or something simple.

Evaluate the scents you enjoy. It could be anything from flowers to fruits, so keep these in mind when browsing.

Think about how often this perfume is going to be used. Is it going to be used daily, or only for special occasions?

Test the perfumes in the shop. Decide if the perfume is too sweet, citrusy, floral, woodsy , too strong, or too expensive. Take note of these factors and eliminate as many as possible.

Ask for advice. You can ask the vendors for advice, or invite a friend along to help you decide.

Sugar Hair Removal Recipe.

Posted by beautyjust4you on April 8, 2008

You can either buy a sugaring hair removal product, or make it yourself.

You can make this sugar mixture that can be used straight out of the container. No heating… and no strips necessary!

The recipe is super simple, free of any chemicals, and works  well…You will need.

2 cups sugar ,1/4 cup lemon or lime juice and   1/4 cup water

Combine all ingredients and bring just to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring often. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes until mixture has turned a rich amber color.Lift the  pan off the heat occasionally so that the bubbles will calm down and you can keep an eye on the color. It gives off a nice cooked lemon sort of aroma when it’s finished.  Move off the heat and allow the mixture to partially cool in the pot until it begins to thicken (about 15 minutes).  Pour the mixture into an air-tight container and allow to cool before touching it.There you go! You just made your own, at home, quick and easy hair removal paste. Once completely cooled, this sugaring paste can be applied directly to the hair and pulled off. Just grab a big chunk out of the container (put a bit of muscle into it to get it out).

The sugaring paste can be warmed and used with muslin strips, just like wax, if you prefer. Flatten the paste out in your hands. Try not to work with it too much as it’ll get sticky from the heat of your hands. Press the paste firmly to the area you want to have hair removed from.

Make sure that your piece of sugaring paste stays at least 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick so that it’ll pull of easily.

When you’ve got it flattened and pressed into the skin, flick up the end of your piece to remove enough to be able to grab it. Pull the skin taut and pull the paste off quickly in the opposite direction of hair growth.

Fold the piece in half until it’s the size you need it for the next area and press it on again. Repeat until the piece becomes too sticky to work with from the heat of your skin. Then discard that piece and grab another and continue if necessary.

When you’re finished in an area, simply wipe it down with a warm, wet washcloth. The sugaring paste is water soluble, so it cleans up quick and easy.
